HabboxLive is the official radio station of the fansite Habbox. It is owned, like as Habbox, Habbox Forum and HabboxWiki by Sierk, Jin and xxMATTGxx. The HabboxLive department is currently ran by Ripieno and Jazz.
HabboxLive is a dedicated radio station for fans and players of Habbo. There are a variety of DJs from around the world who play all genres of music, streaming live 24/7. DJs are split into teams depending on their location, with dedicated DJs to encourage the international base.
There used to be a website decidated to the radio, but it closed down with the release of Habbox version 7. On the website, there was a radio player, a request line, radio applications and more. The radio now only exists on Habbox main site (Habbox.com). The player is accompanied by a shoutout box, which is used so players can request songs, send in shoutouts and enter any competitions the DJ may be hosting.
It has been rumoured since 2011 that in Habbox.com Version Seven, HabboxLive will be completely merged into the main website, making HabboxLive.com redundant. However the department and and DJs will still run as normal every day. On the 19th April 2014 the latest version of Habboxlive was unveiled.
HabboxLive was voted best fansite radio in 2013 in the fansite awards and has also won many other awards and accolades since its formation.
Ranks at HabboxLive
- Trialist DJ - A DJ who is on trial for two weeks to prove themselves as a HabboxLive DJ.
- Guest DJ - A guest DJ hosts shows on HabboxLive! They have to host a minimum of 2 shows which lasts 1 hour.
- Normal DJ - A regular DJ hosts shows on HabboxLive! They have to host a minimum of 3 shows which lasts 1 hour.
- Senior DJ - General Assistance with HabboxLive events & with Head DJ Duties
- Head DJ - Hosts events, manages a group (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta or Echo), issues warnings and gives feedback to DJs
- Assistant Manager - Helps the manager with the day to day running of the department
- Manager - Generally runs the department, looks after staff etc
Competitions
When on air, DJs do not just play songs. They are encouraged to host on-air competitions to provide their listeners with opportunities to win prizes which range from norms, to rares, to seasonals or credits.
Occasionally, DJs will give away Habbox Forum VIP, awards or reputation points (although these are more common in Weekly Shows, as well as Habbox Lottery tickets. During larger Habbox Events, such as the Habbox Summer Spectacular, DJs will give away points for teams during their shows, as well as the normal furniture prizes.
Competitions usually take the form of a question with an answer, often riddles or guess the song, but can also be client-based, such as find the DJ, Guess the Password or Win a Room competitons. Competitions with fixed answers are often more popular, as the DJ cannot be accused of rigging, and hosts are encouraged to use a random number generator to get the winner for that competition.
Listeners can enter competitions by using the shoutout box on either the HabboxLive website or the Habbox website.
Events
HabboxLive also runs events with larger prizes. Events such as giveaways and win a room events occur often, but the Radio department runs larger-scale events too.
Popular events include the Habbox Valentines Ball, The Valentine's Vault, Halloween prom, the Christmas party, as well as the Christmas Cracker in 2010 and 2011. Most of these events take the form of being an opening, closing or prize giving ceremony for one of Habbox's big events, however, they also run Habbox Starz (a version of X Factor/Pop Idol) which runs in the summer, as well as events such as Gender Defender (Boys vs Girls).
Weekly Shows
There is a range of weekly shows, as well as the normal shows which DJs host. Weekly shows usually take a different format to regular shows; Genre shows, talk shows, and more!

I Wanna Rock, Rock DJ
Every Saturday, 4-5pm BST with DJ Izzy. DJ Izzy will play the greatest hits from Rock to Metal, & host competitiona related to all sorts of bands, songs & classics!
Nostalgic Noughties
Every Friday 9-11pm BST with DJ Arcturus. Need a break from the latest and greatest in music? Tune into DJ Arcturus every Friday at 9pm for a 2 hour show, jam packed with all your favorite hits from the 90s and 00s.
Battle of the Decades
Every Saturday, 5-6pm BST with DJ Jess. Join DJ Jess as we travel back in time to the old decades every Saturday at 5pm BST to listen to good oldies from the 70's, 80's, and 90's!
The Drop!
Every Wednesday, 5-7pm BST with DJ Undead and DJ RonanB. Get ready for 2 hours of insane remixes that will make you feel like you're at a never ending rave! Lots of competitions will be included too!

Community
As well as streaming on the websites, HabboxLive DJs have a strong Client presence. Whilst many DJs opt to direct their listeners to Habbox Events that are happening at the same time or to the Habbox Help Desk, some create party rooms where listeners can interact with the DJ and the Habbox community.
HabboxLive run a 'listener of the week' competition: which is voted for by DJs depending on you involvement with HabboxLive and the shows. They also choose a 'song of the week', which is also voted for, based on popular requests for the last week.

- The combined two tenures of ,Jess, stand at a stunning 1,577 days served as HabboxLive Manager, which is more than any other department manager in the history of Habbox. The first tenure in the position for Jess (of 1,074 days) is also a record alone.
- jrh2002, and ,Jess, have each held the HabboxLive Manager position a record two times.
- Angel-Light has held the Assistant HabboxLive Manager position a record three times.
- Strangely and for no apparent reason, HabboxLive management changes appear to occur mostly in the Autumn.
