Habbox Articles, also known as the Articles Department, originally began on the 22nd June 2004 when HabboxForum first opened. It started out with one manager and a handful of trialists who made sure the work they did was interesting whilst Habbox was upcoming as a fansite. With Habbox advancing over the years, the department seemed to trail behind and at the beginning of 2008 it was decided by the General Manager, Nvrspk4, the Articles Manager, Professor-Alex and their team of staff to close the Articles Department and instead focus on Habbox News.
Although the department closed, the staff members mainly went on to other roles, even new ones that were created just for them - Professor-Alex managed to go on to become a Senior Content Designer (Content) who focused on writing on the site, whereas Inseriousity. went on to become the longest reigning Competitions Manager.
After the department had been closed for three years, the News Manager at the time Nuxty decided to revive it again and brought in old writers such as Mrs.McCall and Inseriousity.. However, the department's revival didn't last long, as six months after it reopened it was once again closed for Habbox News to take precedence, with most writers moving over to that department for a time.
The last revival came just after lawrawrrr was given the Assistant General Manager (Content) role, with the aim to revive news/articles on Habbox once again. She created a new position, replacing Head News Reporter with News Team Leader and adding to the role's responsibilities. After the News Team Leader was ready, the decision was made to revive the Articles Department once again and this time be the blanket department for all site posts, whether Habbo related or not. The various writers within the team make sure the front page of Habbox is full of unique and exciting content. The newest revival also showed another role named Proofreader being created to ensure total accuracy within the articles.
As of July 2020, the Proofreader role has been subsumed under management and senior duties.

| (Assistant) Articles Management | The Articles Manager oversees the running of the department. While continuing to write articles as all staff in the department do, the Articles Manager is additionally responsible for proofreading, feedback, back-end structure decisions, and constructing some departmental events, as well as being responsible for recruiting and dismissing members of staff. |
| Senior Articles Writer | Senior Articles staff have the job of helping the Manager on maintaining the department. They must still complete the minimums as usual, but also help with proofreading and feedback. |
| Articles Writer | An Articles Writer will write articles across a range of subjects and themes to be published on Habbox.com where the community can read them. |
| Articles Proofreader (Defunct) | Proofreaders didn't have a set limit. However, the role was to read all articles prior to publishing and correct any mistakes including SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar). |
