Habbox Rare Values

Rare Values on Habbox have been the talking point on Habbo for many years. In the recent years, mainly in 2010 to 2011, there has been a decline in players using the values on the site. This is mainly due to the merge and the Marketplace but some Habbos do use the values religiously.

How it works

The Rare Values on the site are dependent on various values that have been witnessed within both trades and Marketplace, the team also allow members of Habbox Forum to suggest values if any may be incorrect. This is done via a forum and the trades they have witnessed and such. They are mainly reported by the Rare Values team of Rare Values Reporters. The senior role in the Rare Values Department is named Head Rare Values Reporter, their role is to approve or deny the values given to update (this is done by the normal Rare Values Reporters). These statistics such as how many were approved out of the overall amount goes towards the Weekly Reviews the staff members receive each week.

The values can only be edited by the Head Rare Values Reporters, (Assistant) General Managers and (Assistant) Rare Values Manager. The values are updates as regularly as possible but some anomalies can slip through the net hence items such as new releases will be a little inaccurate due to it settling into the Habbo market. Norms are also allowed to be updated on the site, those that are flexible in value such as the Holo-Dice will be updated but their main focus is on the Rares on Habbo.

The Rare Values Editor then search the site for errors or missing furni and then add then to the system, keeping all the images, mottos and names up to date.

Current Positons

• Rare Values Reporter - Ask for values to be updated on the site (minimum 30 approved per week).
• Rare Values Furni Editor - Edit the furni included on the Habbox Rare Values section of the main site and add new releases etc.
• Head Rare Values Reporter - Approve or deny Rare Values Reporters updates, and update values themselves too.
• Head Rare Values Furni Editor - Edit the furni included on the Habbox Rare Values section of the main site and add new releases etc. Add new categories, including category icons and catalogue headers. Head Rare Values Furni Editors can also work on the values side of the department, by helping to approve or deny Rare Values Reporters updates and by reporting values of their own.
• (Assistant) Manager - Mainly run the department, approve/decline values from Rare Values Reporters and delegate to the Head Rare Values Reoprters.

History

Since 2004 the department has been one of the largest on the whole site and although many other sites have tried to create their own values, this hasn't been successful and Habbox has always maintained its position as the 'Rare Leader' if you will.

In 2006 the Department was rocked by mass resignations and public outcry concerning the events of the Samovar Crisis.

Habbox Rare Values team is rather quiet but rest assured they are always working behind the scene just like every other department on the Fansite.

Throughout the 8 years in which Habbox Rare Values has operated it has seen many managers and assistants come and go. There has currently only been two female managers which were Faboosh and Samanfa.

There was once a 'Trade Expert' role which was renamed to 'Expert Rare Values Reporter' although both same in minimums of 10 reports per week in mid-2012 it was found that the Expert role was unneeded thus removed. The department then had a shuffle so that the Rare Values Reporters had the job of what Head Rare Values Reporters used to do whereas the Head Rare Values Reporters took on a job previously done by just the Rare Values Management.

The current Rare Values Manager is Mr-Trainor who took up the role for the third time on the 11th July 2013, after Samanfa decided to step down to Rare Values Reporter. There is currently no Assistant Rare Values Manager.

Trivia: Immenseman and Mr-Trainor have each held the managerial position three times, with -:Undertaker:-, -Danube- and Samanfa each holding it twice.

On rough calculations, Immenseman has served the longest period of time (and terms) as Rare Values Manager.

Mr-Trainor has been the only person to hold the Head Rare Values Furni Editor role in the department.
