The Fansite badge.

Habbo has had many fansites over the years, and most of the old ones are still open, such as Habbox, HFFM and Club Habbo, but a lot of them have closed for various reasons. Previously fansites were labelled 'Official' by Sulake, however this restriction has since been lifted as Sulake decided that all fansites should be equal.

The Fansite Way

The Fansite Way is much like the Habbo Way (which can be found here) except it's the rules and regulations that the Fansites must follow in order to stay Official. Fansites must support Habbo.com at all times but must never try to make a profit from it's members. You can find the fansite way here.

Habbox

The oldest Fansite still running today is Habbox.com which opened to the Habbo community in the Summer of 2003 and was founded by Mizki. Habbox developed and what began out as a small project for Mizki became an even bigger project which made her realise she couldn't handle all the workload! There after, Mizki handed the site to her good friend, Sierk. Sierk was the sole owner until late 2009 when Jin became co-owner and helped Sierk run the Fansite. Sierk is more of the financial person and the silent owner of the site whereas Jin looks after the server and attempts to pull away from his busy lifestyle to check the ever growing Fansite.

Habbox managed to gain the status of Official Habbo Fansite but then lost it due to unforseen reasons. Habbox eventually regained it and still remains official today! Even though the official status was lost, what wasn't lost was the infamous community and no one lost faith in Habbox.

Habbox was always known for their Rare Values, that are still updated regularly by the Rare Values Staff today. Before the English-speaking Hotels merged and before the Marketplace came it was the most popular site to gain values. Habbox still remains a popular site for values and often Habbo's use it as opposed to the Marketplace in the hope of a more accurate reading. However, as the Habbo's from other countries hadn't heard of Habbox some users thought it was better to use other means of gaining the values of an item of furniture.

Habbox.com was good for Rare Values but it also had three affiliated sites (HabboxForum, HabboxWorld and HabboxLive) and two of them exist still. For a period of time Habbox had the site UploadPicz so you could upload any pictures you needed but this had to close.
