Credit Furni, previously known as Habbo Exchange in the Catalogue, is the method used to transform your credits into a tradeable currency. You can for example purchase one Credit from the Catalogue as a Bronze Coin, but it will cost you two Credits. It was first introduced in March 2007 as a part of of the version 12 update.
Purchasing credits from the catalogue can also be a smart method of buying certain furniture at reduced costs - often the tradeable price of furni is much lower among players than it would cost to buy directly from the catalogue. This means that it is sometimes better to exchange credits into a tradeable currency and buy the piece of furni for a lower price from another user.
At first Credit Furni was tradeable just like any type of furniture, but was updated in 2016 to mean that any Credit Furni a Habbo receives in a trade will be automatically converted into Credits in their purse, and if they want to trade it to someone else they will need to buy the Credit Furni from the shop again. Thus, effectively a trade tax was introduced.
Credit Furni can be converted back to credits by putting it in one of your own rooms and double-clicking it. With the introduction of Habbo 2020 and the introduction of the Vault this changed dramatically. When you convert Credit Furni back to credits and you have 500 or more credits in your purse and vault combined, you have to pay a 80% tax in order to gain access to your own credits unless you make a one-time purchase with real-life money.
In February 2025, Vaults were entirely removed for all players. The "tax" charged on purchasing Credit Furni also had an overhaul[1] at the same time, with some fees being reduced and others being replaced with Diamonds.

Limited Edition
To expand the exchanging range of items on Habbo, limited kinds of exchanges are made available for players to purchase or gain from time to time. In a popular game in the old Game Centre, Fast Food, players could win either a Big Ruby or Small Ruby depending on where they finished on the leaderboard each week. After a while, this was removed due to the introduction of the game on other hotels and partly because the same players kept on winning. There have however been a number of Credit Furni in various designs and values that are released into the catalogue for short periods of time.

Chinese
On Habbo.cn, the coins were worth 10x their value on other hotels. This was to accommodate the exchange rate for Chinese currency (in reality). Very few images of the Bronze Coin being worth 10C have survived, but catalogue icons for the other exchange items still remain. These coins were never meant to surface on Habbo.com (International) (due to them being a staff-only item), but a few of the Bronze Coins were accidentally given out as rewards for watching sponsored videos - they weren't redeemable.
