Season: Easter

The Habberge eggs were a series of Limited Edition Rares released in 2014, 2016 and 2018 during each year's Easter campaign. The name was a pun on Fabergé eggs, Russian-made jewelled eggs created by the House of Fabergé between 1885 and 1917. Like the real life eggs, the Habbo versions were made in rich colours (greens, reds, blues and pinks) and decorated with gold, silver and jewels.

The eggs were quite popular, with most of them selling out. They are often used as collectors' items these days, on display in collection rooms and auctions.

2014 release

The 2014 release had five eggs: the Lapis Lazuli Egg, Maw-Sit-Sit Egg (Green), Maw-Sit-Sit Egg (Red), the Chirp Chirp Egg and the largest, the Dark Sapphire & Diamond Egg. There was also a Habberge Aquamarine, an egg that looked very similar to the green Maw-Sit-Sit egg, but in a copper and turquoise tone. This was because the green Maw-Sit-Sit Egg initially went into the catalogue early with no indication that it was the Limited Edition Rare. When players purchased the item, no batch number was present either, making them just normal items of furniture that cost 250 credits. When this was noticed by Habbo staff, they replaced the item in users' inventories with the Habberge Aquamarine.

2016 release

The 2016 eggs were more extravagant than the set released in 2014 - they were bigger and brighter, and had several states, including animation allowing users to see inside them (excluding the Verdant Egg). There were four eggs released in total: the Verdant Habberge Egg, the Efflorescent Habberge Egg (which has roses inside), the Dragon Habberge Egg, which has a silver mound of treasure and a sleeping dragon inside, and the Burnished Habberge Egg which had another miniature egg inside.

For the 2016 release, each egg came with a badge for the purchaser to collect.

Trivia

  • The Maw-Sit-Sit Egg (Green) was released by accident before its allocated time, but in the normal catalogue. Many users purchased the 250-credit item (which was not branded as a LTD item and had no counter) before it was removed from their inventories and replaced with the Habberge Aquamarine, which is worthless.
  • The Lapis Lazuli Egg is the only one in this range not to have sold out. It only sold 271 of the 300 eggs released.
  • The most expensive release was the Dark Sapphire & Diamond Egg, at 1000 credits. The cheapest is the Maw-Sit-Sit Egg (Green) and the Efflorescent Habberge Egg, at 250 credits each.
