Duckets were introduced on 21 February 2013. Older players may remember Pixels, which Duckets effectively replaced under a new name. Unlike other currencies, Duckets cannot be purchased from the Catalogue.

Instead, users earn Duckets by being active on Habbo, completing achievements, and taking part in certain quests. Occasionally, competitions hosted by Habbo Staff also reward additional Duckets. This makes them an accessible currency, especially for newer players starting out on Habbo.

Unlike Diamonds and Credits, Duckets are easy to earn and widely used, as every user has access to them. Duckets can be spent on Effects, Pets, renting Furni in the Base, Cubie, Pura, Windows, and Automobile categories, purchasing 2 Hour Room Promotions for 15 Duckets, and customizing rooms with Wallpaper, Flooring, and Landscapes.

Rentable Furniture

The introduction of Duckets allowed users to begin renting furniture, which was a major change to how the Habbo Catalogue worked. Nothing like this had been done before. Similar to Pixels in the past, users were able to buy a limited selection of furniture; however, with Duckets, it became possible to rent furniture from a much wider variety of ranges.

For new users, this was a major improvement. Previously, new users had to slowly build up Furniture in order to create Rooms, while now they could simply earn Duckets by being active online and use them to rent Furniture early in their Habbo journey.

Any Furniture rented from the Catalogue lasts for 7 days once it has been placed in a room, so users are encouraged not to place items until needed. Rented items can be found under the Rentables tab in the inventory.

A series of icons are also used for rented Furniture:

  • Green Clock Icon - Means the rental is active, and clicking it shows how much time remains.
  • Red Exclamation Mark Icon - Indicates that the rental is about to expire and should either be renewed or cancelled.

While an item is in a room or inventory, it can be extended or bought out. Extending the rental adds another 7 days at the original rental price, while buying it out requires the user to pay Credits to own the Furniture permanently.

There are currently 4 main Furniture ranges available to rent:

Prices start at 15 Duckets and go up to 139 Duckets, depending on the Furniture type.

Base was introduced alongside Duckets in February 2013. Cubie and Pura are older ranges that have existed on Habbo for a long time and are considered some of the more basic Furniture sets. The Automobile range was originally associated with Pixels, was removed along with that currency, and later returned as a Duckets purchase option.

A small range of Wallpaper, Flooring, and Landscapes can also be purchased using Duckets as an easy way to decorate rooms. These selections are smaller than those found in the regular Catalogue, but provide free-to-earn customization options" At present, there are:

  • 0 Wallpapers
  • 0 Floors
  • 12 Landscapes

Windows

There are 2 different styles of Windows available for purchase using Duckets. Unlike rentable furniture, these do not expire. Both items cost 150 Duckets.

Landscapes

A small range of Landscapes can be purchased using Duckets as a simple way to decorate rooms. The selection is much smaller than the regular Catalogue section, but it provides accessible options for users without Credits. At present, there are 12 Landscapes available.

Base Furniture

The Base range of furniture was introduced in February 2013 alongside Duckets and was initially only available to rent using Duckets for a short period. Shortly after, it was also made available for permanent purchase using Credits.

This range is essentially a remake of the Hello Furniture range from the Pixels era. It serves as a useful starter range for new users who do not yet have Credits, helping them build Rooms and become part of the Habbo community more easily.

The Base range is available in 4 colors: Blue, Green, Red, and Pink. There are also several miscellaneous items and re-colors available.
