Real Life
The sculpture is based on the sculpture entitled The Little Mermaid by Edvard Eriksen. The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue that was unveiled in 1913 and was based on ballerina Ellen Price. It is situated in Langelinie Park in Copenhagen, Denmark.
