Real Life
The painting is based on a real life painting by Banksy in 2006 (based on his own 2002 mural) titled Love is in the Bin.
Shredding at auction

On October the 5th, 2018, a 2006 framed copy of the artwork was auctioned at Sotheby's selling for £1,042,000. a couple of moments after it was sold the painting began shredding itself by a hidden mechanical paper shredder that Banksy himself had build into the frame. The painting increased in value after this happened.
