Real Life
The sculpture is based on a real life sculpture located in Shibuya Station's by Teru Andō, sculpted in 1934 and titled Statue of Hachikō. The red scarf she's wearing is a reference to the intervention performed on the statue on November 19, 2019, during which a red scarf was placed on it. This is in reference to "Negro Matapacos" a Chilean dog that became famous during the 2011 student protests in that country and that regained notoriety during the social protests that occurred in October 2019.
