Help:File Conventions

Uploading a file is something that needs to be done for almost all new Habbox Wiki pages created. The instructions on the Upload File page are relatively simple, but there are some additional things that need to be mentioned here:

  • To iterate, you can only upload a .jpg, .png, or .gif file. If you have another format you can either try saving it under a different format using a program like Paint or Photoshop, or you can often find free online file converters - .png is the preferred format for Pixel Art.
  • You must be careful when naming your file. Do not include full stops in the name of the file as this causes problems when the Wiki tries to read the file name sometimes, since a file called TestFile.2.png might have the .2 read as the file extension instead of the correct .png extension. Alongside this, do not name your files something vague like hahdfguerifehsa.png as this makes them difficult to locate on the wiki.
  • Try to avoid overwriting other files, especially as these may be important files used on various pages. Simply rename your file if needed.
  • Once you have uploaded your file, please categorise it. You can browse through Category:Habbo, Category:Sulake, and Category:Fansites for the appropriate category to put it in. Leaving it uncategorised makes it difficult for other users to locate the image. To categorise the file simply click edit once the file page has loaded and add the following text:
[[Category:CATEGORYNAME]]

Aside from that, uploading files is a relatively straight-forward process. The only current setback is that you can only upload one file at a time.
