Sampo Karjalainen (Habbo name Apparatus) is one of the two co-founders of Sulake alongside aapo. He was the Chief Creative Officer and head of Visual Concept Design. He left his position at Sulake in January 2013. Since leaving Habbo and Sulake, Sampo and Aapo Kyrölä founded another company called ProtoGeo until the company was acquired by Facebook in 2014, and he has since moved on to a job in San Francisco as a product designer for Facebook.
Apparatus was the first Hotel Manager of Hotelli Kultakala and assisted in the setup of Habbo Hotel UK for the opening week in January 2001, helping Daisy to bring the Habbo experience to the English speaking world.
His account was the 9th registered Habbo.

- Worked at the company 'To The Point' and later 'Satama Interactive' with Aapo Kyrölä. During their free-time at Satama, they developed what would be known as Mobiles Disco (1999-2000).
