Release 6
This was the first major public update released to users on Habbo and it also the starting point of the Habbox Wiki's documentation of Habbo Releases. In short, this Habbo update saw the addition of colour coding to the navigator to show the volume of users in a room, along with more room to store favourite rooms. There was also a new 'Who's in here?' feature for Public Rooms and more navigator changes, including the addition of categories. All of these points are explained in more detail below.
Changes made in Release 6
A feature which is very much still in use to the present day, the colour coding used on the navigator made a huge difference to players. Four different colours were shown beside a room's name to indicate the popularity of the room. Essentially using a traffic light system, red would show that a room was full or near capacity. Yellow was to show the room is busy and green meant there was plenty of room for more users. The final colour was a dull grey, indicating the room is empty.
Favourite Room Limitations
Another feature still in use today is the Favourite Rooms system. Although there have been changes over the years, the system remains very much the same. Favourite Rooms were included from the early days of Habbo and Release 6 saw the amount a user could have increased.
With more and more users creating Habbo accounts, the navigator soon became overwhelmed with Guest Rooms and something had to be done. Release 6 is where categories were first brought to the hotel and as with other features brought with this release, these categories also remain in place. Rather than a large list of rooms to scroll through, players were now able to choose only which category of room they wished to view.
Who's in here?
A feature no longer present in the hotel is the Who's in here? feature. Many public events would take place in Habbo's Public Rooms, leading to rooms becoming full and many users not being able to enter. From Release 6, users were able to shift + click on a Public Room to see who was in the room. This was useful when a celebrity was visiting the hotel as users were able to find out what account name the VIP had and could search for their rooms as events would often follow in the VIP's Guest Room.
