The Rare Balloon Machine was released in December of 2011 as a Christmas rare, alongside the Christmas Cabin campaign. Unlike some Rares, this required players to purchase it with Credits and the seasonal currency Snowflakes. Overall, it cost 20 Credits and 30 Snowflakes.
In 2011, Snowflakes could be earned by doing quests Habbo published daily, as well as playing the reformed SnowStorm Shuffle.
New Year's Resolutions
On the 28th December 2011, Habbo opened a competition for players to enter their New Year's Resolutions for 2012. Players were given 1 week until the 3rd January 2012 to submit their entries and everyone who entered would receive the 'Happy 2012!' badge. In addition to the badge, 50 lucky drawn winners will receive a random surprise rare too - this was later announced as the new Rare Balloon Machine.
