RAF4U was an event runt by Habbo UK in conjunction with the RAF in late August 2005. Announced in the weekly newsletter (the "newsie") on the 25th of August, the campaign involved five members of Habbo Staff setting up teams and competing in a series of competitions and events over the following month in order to find the best team.

Staff teams

Each member of staff formed a team with a name, a base room, uniforms and, with the exception of Team Geno, a team mission (a feature now called "motto"). In the newsletter dating the 25th of August 2005, the team leaders posted a recruitment blurb in order to recruit members.

Team leader Team name Uniform Mission
GlitterKat KosmicKittens "Anything yellow and cosmic." [KK] Cadet
Impetuous The Royal Imp Force Khaki top, khaki combats and brown shoes [Royal Imp Force™] - Recruit
Lost_Witness Jenovas Witness Dark blue hoodie & black bottoms [JENOVA]

HelKat The Tea A Team Brown tops, bottoms and shoes. [Tea-A] A cup above.

Recruitment

VIP badge

The first week of the campaign involved each Habbo Staff running recruitment competitions and events to select 5 cadets to join their team. HelKat elected to have Habbos dress up as teabags and selected the best-looking teabags. The five cadets chosen for each team would become the highest ranking members of their respective team. They received a VIP badge for the duration of the campaign. They were then required to design a base room with the staff leader and run the base, recruiting other members to their team.

Weekly Challenges

Each week over the course of September 2005, the teams went head to head in challenges to earn points. The challenges included:

Team parade

The teams were told to prepare a parade march to perform on the stage in the Theatredrome and were given the weekend to rehearse with all recruits. During the performances, each team was given a few minutes on stage to perform a series of movements (a common choice was to make the shape of the first letter of the team name) and shout out a team/chant song. The performances were judged by Callie, the Hotel Manager, and points were awarded.

Kick Wars

The final event was a giant kick wars, where teams were pitted against one another. Habbos who made it to the final room were awarded points for their team.

Final Result

In late September, the results of the challenge were released and were as follows:

Position Team
1st Royal Imp Force
2nd Kosmic Kittens
3rd Geno
4th Jenovas Witness
5th The Tea-A.

However, the result was not without controversy. Callie, the Hotel Manager, had run the RAF4U competition from start to finish, and judged most of the events. Impetuous' team had led for much of the compeititon, which, when combined with the long-standing rumour that Impetuous and Callie were the same person, led many people to claim that the event was fixed.

After the compeition, the head cadets had their VIP badges removed and received prizes from their team leaders. Most were given trophies and a rare. HelKat, for example, gave her cadets a black smoke machine (which had just been released in the catalogue for the first time).
