The Rare Voodoo Doll is a rare furniture item that was released in October of 2010 to coincide with the new furniture range Voodoo which was released nearer Habboween on the October 25th of the same year. The Rare Voodoo Doll was one of the reformed Collectibles that Habbo released on the hotel - they weren't deemed as Collectibles, but just as rares that were only available for a limited amount of time[1].

Similar to Collectibles and other rares in the Rare Voodoo Doll's set, the price was 25 Credits and players could purchase as many units as they wanted. The rare was available for four days until the 12th October 2010. Likewise with the other rares, the Rare Voodoo Doll offered a badge to go with the item making it more sought after.

The Rare Voodoo Doll was a unique item brought onto the Habbo market with 10 different states of torture, making it a little realistic to real voodoo dolls. The rare itself fluctuates a lot and has never been too stable in price, but it often finds itself increasing nearer Halloween.

Although the Rare Voodoo Doll wasn't released until October, there were images speculating its release in August 2010 - this included images for the new set of rares including the Gigantic Beanstalk and the Crystal Patch.

Badge

Every user who purchased the Rare Voodoo Doll also received a badge.

According to Habbowidgets, 2148 Habbos have this badge.

Owww My Eye!

To kick start the new release, Habbo released a fun poll to see which of the Rare Voodoo Doll states were player's favourites. They could choose from:

  • Original is best!
  • Acupuncture Gone Wrong
  • Chainsaw Massacre
  • Pin Head
  • Mouse Trap
  • Shock Tactics
  • Great Dolls of Fire
  • Carrying Extra Weight
  • Something Smells Fishy
  • Stinky Cheese Mask

I Put A Hex On You

Around the 24th October 2010, Habbo released a competition to welcome the new Voodoo Doll items into the Catalog. They included Voodoo Dolls for Luck, Love and Curse and were on sale for 3 Credits for their duration in the Catalog.

The point of the competition was to gift the new Voodoo Doll items to other players, these included friends, enemies or just random avatars to increase a player's chance of winning. After the Voodoo Doll additions left the Catalog the top 30 players who gifted the most items would win the new Voodoo Doll Rare. With there being 3 topics, the top 10 from each one would win the prize. However, players could only win once across all the categories, and in case of a duplicate the next player who gifted the next highest would win.

For joining in with gifting and buying the new items, Habbo released badges corresponding to the different Voodoo Dolls.

The Crowned Ghouls

During November 2010, Habbo released a further competition for the Halloween/Habboween season whereby the winners would win a Rare Voodoo Doll. This was a team competition and needed to include 2-5 friends.

Players had to create a team and design the best Habboween costumes they could - the group could wear similar or totally different things, but the main goal was to be creative. To enter, a team had to be in a room together and take a screenshot which included everyone wearing their Habboween costumes - the screenshot needed to be sent to Sulake for judging.

The prizes were for 12 groups who were selected as the finalists and received a Habboween Voodoo Badge and a free month of HC, formerly VIP. A vote was then opened to crown the ultimate winner and each member of the team won a Voodoo Doll.

In the luckiest category, Habbo allowed 11 winners as some of them sent the same amount.
